Poem in E

I don’t know what I want to be,
What letter or note or language or key.
The truth that is what others see,
Is not what my mind makes of me.

From galloping hills to towering trees,
I seek and yearn for inner peace to the highest degree.
As I run and leap and swim with glee,
Above the world and people to simply find me.

I try hiking and violin and the club Glee,
but I think that most will agree,
none of these pursuits really suit me.

I try calculus, curling and living in Tennessee,
but none will disagree,
none of these pursuits truly fit me.

Finally, I try dance and skating and being bourgeoisie,
Oh my, how fun! And now I finally see,
I can be whoever and whatever I want to be.
